Ex-Works
The seller is responsible for the merchandise until he delivers the goods to his establishment. That is, factory, warehouse, etc. This term represents the least obligation of the seller and the buyer must bear all costs and risks. The EXW Incoterm can be used in any of the routes.
Free-Carrier
The seller delivers the merchandise for export to the carrier proposed by the buyer, at the agreed place. The FCA Incoterm can be used in any way of transport.
Free on Board
The seller is responsible for the goods until they are on the ship at the agreed port of shipment. The FOB incoterm is only used for maritime transport.
Costs and Freight
The seller is responsible for all costs until the goods arrive at the destination port (including International Freight). The CFR Incoterm is only used for maritime transport.
Carriage Paid To
The seller is responsible for all costs until the merchandise reaches the agreed point in the destination country. The CPT incoterm can be used with any mode of transport including multimodal transport.
Cost, Insurance and Freight
The seller pays all costs until the merchandise reaches the named port of destination (including Freight and Insurance). The CIF Incoterm can be used only for maritime transport.
Carriage and Insurance Paid to
The seller is responsible for all expenses until the merchandise is delivered to the agreed destination, including the Insurance. The CPT Incoterm can be used regardless of the mode of transport, including multimodal transport.
Delivered Duty Unpaid
The seller is responsible for all costs to the named place of the destination country (excluding import duties and taxes).
Delivered Duty Paid
The seller is responsible for all costs to the named place of the destination country, including import duties and taxes.
